Part III The Crisis of Bourgeois Natural Science The third volume of the book series, The Crisis of Bourgeois Ideology, and the Doctrine of the Mode of Thinking, deals with the crisis of bourgeois natural science. Natural scientists generally are held in high esteem in bourgeois society because they are seemingly apolitical, unimpeachable, and committed solely to social progress. With the advance of positivism and pragmatism, however, the natural sciences lost much of their scientificity and have gotten into a crisis. This polemic is intended to revive materialistically based free thinking in the working class. Unless it frees itself from the shackles of idealism and metaphysics, humanity will not be able to utilize the achievements of the modern natural sciences for social progress.   The restoration of capitalism in the Soviet Union since 1956 was a severe defeat for the international Marxist-Leninist and working-class movement. It produced great uncertainty and led to a split in the worldwide communist movement, throwing the worldwide struggle for socialism back considerably. The book exposed modern revisionism as basis for the system change in terms of world outlook. Not every party recognized the restoration of capitalism because they, too, were influenced by the revisionist ideas of the CPSU and the DKP and followed the road taken by the CPSU. Others, like the Communist Party of China, fundamentally criticized this road. For party building in Germany, but also for the international Marxist-Leninist movement, it was decisive to analyze this betrayal and its causes and process them creatively. Revolutionärer Weg, No. 7, proves that the Soviet Union was de- stroyed from within by a new bourgeoisie with a Party membership card in its pockets, that the dictatorship of the proletariat was reversed. The takeover of power by the new bourgeoisie paved the way also for a fundamental change in the economic base. This analysis is carried out in Revolutionärer Weg, No. 8. Once the capitalist laws have been introduced, they operate au- tomatically, both inside the country and externally. Revolutionärer Weg, No. 9, deals with the evolution of the new- type capitalism into social-imperialism and with the further development of modern revisionism by Brezhnev and Deng Xiaoping. This book has been translated into four languages today, including Russian, and disseminated worldwide. It is a fundamental work that has helped many people to understand this development and to take the road of constructing a new party.

  The fundamental orientation of Marxist-Leninist work in enterprises and unions was developed with Revolutionärer Weg, Nos. 11/12. It deals with both opportunist and “Left” sectarian mistakes and molding influences in this work, which partly have their origin in the history of the German working-class and communist movement. The foreword states: “The question of the development and emergence of the working-class offensive does not only depend on the workers’ spontaneous fighting spirit. On the contrary, under today’s conditions, the bourgeois media, the press and, above all, television can purposefully spread uncertainty. Meeting this mood and bringing clar ty into the heads requires to recall the historical relations as well as the fundamental experiences of recent years. This book is to make a contribution to it.” (Revolutionärer Weg, Nos. 11/12, p. 14) No. 11 deals with the emergence and development of the unions through today. No. 12 mainly examines the relationship between trade-union struggle and revolutionary class struggle. It provides excellent guidance for the work as a class-militant union member, shop-floor union representative or works council member. The starting point is to understand the struggles of the workers as a school of class struggle.

In 1999 the Gelsenkirchen Party Congress approved a number of essential additions that took into account German reunifi cation and party work on the basis of the proletarian mode of thinking. Since the beginning of the 1990s the imperialist world system has undergone an essential change due to the reorganization of international production. The struggle of a leading stratum of around 500 international supermonopolies from the banking, industrial, trade and agricultural sectors for control of the world market has since put its stamp on world events. The chronic overaccumulation of capital since that time increases the general crisis-proneness of the imperialist world system.The threatening global environmental catastrophe and the general danger of war call into question the very existence of human life. The national-state regulation of politics and economics has degenerated more and more into a mere appendage of an internationally agreed crisis management. The common denominator of this crisis management is limited mainly to the maintenance of the imperialist world system and the dominance of a few top monopolies of international fi nance capital. At the same time, the competition over profi table investment areas, world market shares, natural resources and political spheres of infl uence is intensifying to an extreme degree. Against this backdrop, the potential for a revolutionary world crisis has grown considerably. This program, further developed at the Sonneberg Party Congress in 2016, succinctly portrays the essential changes in capitalist society. It draws conclusions for the extension and further development of the Marxist-Leninist strategy and tactics in the preparation of the international socialist revolution. Especially important in this regard are the unity of national and international class struggle; the unity of the struggle for social liberation and for the solution of the global environmental crisis; the unity of the struggle for the liberation of the working class from exploitation of wage labor and for the liberation of women from their special oppression; the connection between winning the decisive majority of the international industrial proletariat and the fi ghting alliance with the oppressed of the world. In a situation in which social reality has become more complicated, with the party program everyone is given the possibility to comprehensively get to know the policies, goals and working methods of the MLPD as newtype party and to understand them in their essential features, contrary to their anticommunist distortion and defamation. It draws conclusions from successes, defeats and mistakes of the past in the struggle for socialism.It shows the path of self-liberation of the working class and all the oppressed and exploited in a socialist and communist society. The program characterizes the present-day demands on class consciousness, women's consciousness, environmental consciousness or internationalist consciousness.Simultaneously, it brings across many opportunities for taking part in the tasks for the future of humankind and committing oneself to the liberation from capitalist exploitation and oppression at the side of the MLPD. The further developed party program has been written based on the experience of the MLPD's history of roughly fifty years of party building and the lessons learned from the international Marxist-Leninist, revolutionary and working-class movement. It emphatically distances itself from the chief variants of opportunism and sectarianism opposing the liberation of the working class, and at the same time joins hands with all the exploited and oppressed for the common struggle. It is committed to actively participating in and promoting the International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations (ICOR) and is a signal to the youth of the world to join the struggle for a socialist future.
